COME FLY WITH ME……!

“ Have you got a step ladder?” - that was the first question asked by the journalist/photographer when he called to cover my sky dive. That was back in June and you may have seen the publicity in the Evesham Journal and Worcester News. I can assure you that posing on a step ladder with arms akimbo in no way prepared me for the big day. However I survived the experience and quite enjoyed taking off from the plane at 13000feet and 120 miles per hour! Being strapped tandem to Will, a very handsome, competent male trainer, was a great comfort as was my faith.

Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me and to date helped to raise around £3000 for Arthritis Research UK. I hope to have the final figure next month.

In appreciation to you all you are invited to:

Coffee Morning, not a fundraiser,

organised by the Pershore and District Branch of Arthritis Research UK.

Saturday 10th September 10am—12 noon.

The Old Schoolroom Charlton

The DVD of my skydive will be shown, several times I expect.

Drop in and fly with me. Helen Fowler and committee

Three Peaks Challenge

The Three Fladbury Ladies who took on the challenge of the Three Peaks successfully completed this over the weekend of 23 and 24 July. Leaving at 5.30am for the long, cramped journey to Scotland, the clock started at 4.15pm with the climb up Ben Nevis, passing clumps of snow near the top and being rewarded with stunning views all around. Then the journey to Scafell. Arriving at the base at 03.45am in the dark, it was head torches on, mini-bus doors open and we were off, this time rewarded with the sun rise and again beautiful views all around but it was bitterly cold at the summit and we were soon heading back down wearing hats, scarves and gloves. Making good time towards Wales, we hit a motorway diversion which delayed our journey! leaving us just three hours 15 minutes for the climb up Snowdon. As the doors opened, we were off but this time it was each for their own to see if the 24 hour time scale could be met. Best foot forward we all completed the Three Peaks Challenge. We had a wonderful tiring time and thank everyone who supported us with our challenge. We have raised over £4,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.

THANK YOU!!! Carol Tessa Andrea

PS Carol just did it in under 24 hours but they all did it – wow! Well done!
